Northwest Beacon Light ... ISSUE TWO now online!

The Northwest Region Beacon Light, our regional paper, is NOW AVAILABLE online, to read and download from the Beacon Light page of this very web site. To go there, now, simply CLICK HERE. Two issues are presently available, the most recent one published in August 2010.

As you will see, our paper is looking better than ever. Issue two is a whopping 16 pages of information, testimonials, photographs and timely articles to encourage the Church of God in our region and encourage us to move forward in the work of evangelizing the lost in our communities.

Our first online issue was a 14-page, full-color flagship for a format that can easily be printed from any computer or saved to your desktop/hard-drive and archived for future reference - even emailed to friends, family, co-workers or others in your community. Because we have taken great care to make the paper visually appealing, we trust that more and more people will want to read it.

Be assured that this is only a taste of great things to come for our regional paper, which should continue to improve with every issue!

Don't forget to send us submissions for the next issue, which will be available to read, download, print and share on Oct. 1 of this year!

Northwest Region Website Continues to Grow

Most areas of our website are now functional (72 pages), and many more areas are planned for the near future. We already have a podcast up and running, but this will be greatly revised and improved in the coming months. The resources are currently being secured to make this possible.

You may have also noticed that both the Sedro-Woolley church and the Salem church have their own websites, attached to this website under the "Churches" section. These are just the first of the local church websites that will be networked together with the regional site.

We will regularly update you on what is new. To read about the latest updates and additions, visit the "Site Updates" page, under "About Us/About Our Website".

Upcoming Additions to the Website.

The Fall of 2010 promises to hold a number of additions for the regional website, including several areas that will be growing. Prior to the New Year (2011), a significant amount of content will be added to allow our readers to study out a wealth of subjects related to the Christian life and The Church of God.

Keep watching our Facebook page for a list of these changes, as they occur, and feel free to send other material our way. We will be glad to incorporate anything that will bless and edify the Body of Christ.

Future content may even include streaming video. However, we will begin by adding a number of podcasts to our site, including a regional podcast and a couple of local ones with messages from our pastors, regional leaders and visiting evangelists or general headquarters representatives.

Please e-mail your submissions to admin@tcognorthwest.com.

Minister's Convention 2011 is almost here

The year seems to be flying past, and the 2011 Northwest Region Minister's Conention is now upon us. Minister's convention begins Thursday night, Oct. 7, at the Yakima Church, and will continue through Saturday evening, Oct. 9. Now is the time to make your plans to attend, while rooms are still available at Yakima area hotels.

A list of hotels can be found in the right column of the Regional Convention page. However, more information, as well as a pdf program of the convention, will be posted soon for anyone who would like a sneak peak of what's in store.

Region acquires video editing software

Having enjoyed a great deal of success with our new publishing software (you can see the results in the latest issues of the Northwest Beacon Light), we decided to stick with Serif software and purchase some advanced video editing software that will allow us to make professional-quality DVDs of our regional events, as well as the possibility of adding some streaming content to our website in the future. We hope that this will be blessing to the region and that you too are looking forward to having such content made available to the members in our region.

Currently, our plan is to video the entire minister's convention and make copies for anyone who is unable to attend or who would simply like to hear these messages again.

Washington District Convention
Washington District Convention is planned to take place one month after Minister's Convention (the dates will be Friday through Saturday, November 5 and 6), at The Church of God in Kennewick, WA.

The members in Kennewick have recently acquired a new building that promises to be a blessing to the entire region, not the least of which is to provide a place for the Washington district convention to be held. The new building includes a balcony and recording area, where services can be recorded.

The Kennewick church may need some help preparing the new building, since the members will close on the facility and finalize the acquisition around the middle of October. Anyone who would like to help with painting, moving or donating items for the new building should contact Sis. Brenda Bell. Sis. Brenda's contact information is listed in the pastors/church section of this website.

Holiday Events

Some of the local churches of the Northwest Region are planning to hold holiday outings or events that may be of interest to others in the region. Although these events are still in planning stages, details should be forthcoming over the next month and available prior to the Washington District convention. Once the details have all been worked out, we will announce these events and post all relevant information related to them in this section of the our regional website.

Details will also be given on the Northwest Region Facebook Page, so check these two areas on a regular basis to found out what may be in the works in your area.
